Title / Titel Molecular mechanisms inhibiting regeneration of the CNS
PDF Abstract (PDF, 14 KB)
Summary / Zusammenfassung In contrast to the peripheral nervous system (PNS) the adult CNS has a very limited capacity to regenerate. Several molecules involved in this growth inhibition have been described, of which Nogo-A is the most potent one. Still, the molecular mechanisms involving Nogo-A and other proteins leading to growth inhibition are poorly understood and are currently being studied in different assays.
