Summary / Zusammenfassung	The study seeks to evaluate aggressive behavior of psychiatric inpatients within six mental hospitals of the Swiss Canton of Zurich. In particular it is concernend with the distribution of aggressive actions over wards and clinics, with the circumstances, forms and individual risks of violent behavior. The study covers a period of 4 years with 6 months of data collection per year. Therefore changes over time in aggressive behavior can be investigated too. An important characteristic of the project is its action research approach, i.e. interventions with regard to first results will be carried out while the study advances and again the effects of interventions will be object of research. For the present data of the first wave (november 1999 - april 2000) have been collected and analysed. First results of the study were presented, publications are planned.
